(Dictated, not read.)
I wish you a very Happy First Father’s Day.
I know we can’t be together for this one, but I pinkyswear-promise you we’ll be together for the rest. Mommy & I will make you a delicious breakfast in bed and spoil you with presents and you can take me out to play with Ted E. Bear in the park and tell me all about that Optimus Prime guy.
I miss you, and I know Mommy misses you and wishes she could cook you a fabulous meal and buy you lots of special things, but we both know why you’re not here right now and we understand. It’s just timing. We’re both so very grateful that you are working so hard for our little family. We love you and can’t wait to see you soon. It just makes the time we have together all the more special.
So much love,
Lily
P.S. Check out my sassy new outfit, courtesy of Aunt Rhiannon!

Well, SOMEONE had to say it eventually, and as Mom, I lay claim.
(Thanks to Grandma Donna for the fancy headband!)

She’s starting to smile allll the time now. It’s just hard to catch them on camera. We’ll keep working at it!

Check out our future mermaid! New album in the Gallery.
FYI to our fabulous friends & family members: If you haven’t done so already, subscribe to the RSS feed at the topof the main page. That way you’ll always get notifications when we post new material, and you don’t have to check in constantly only to see nothing, then get tired of doing so & miss new pictures when we actually do have ‘em!
Also, I (Mommy) promise to start sharing some actual written CONTENT one of these days, too! On top of the usual demands of caring for a newborn, our nursing challenges have really taken just about every spare moment so far, between pumping around the clock and running around to see all kinds of specialists and therapists, but progress is being made, and one of these days – soon – we will be a normal breastfeeding dyad.
Hopefully then I’ll have a LITTLE more time to do things like complete the writing of Lily’s birth story, tell the tale of our nursing journey, blog about our life together, take and post more pictures – and perhaps even start (gasp) working out again! (Honestly, if I can stop wearing maternity clothes by fall, I’ll be happy; that’s how dire the situation is. But first things first . . . )
Until then, enjoy the bathing beauty. Love to you all!
